Per Os Bio develops niche healthcare products (supplements and pharmaceuticals) in underutilized, emerging dosage forms like tableted chewing gum, chewable tablets and lozenges. Using an in-house product development team, Per Os Bio develops custom tablet formulations that incorporate dietary supplements for companies competing in a variety of markets, including energy, immune support, weight loss, probiotics and dental, just to name a few. We also develop our own branded nutraceutical products and are working on niche, generic pharmaceutical products in new dosage formats, like gum.
Per Os Bio is one of very few companies in the world that has the ability to make tableted chewing gum products. Per Os Bio uses a direct compression tableting process. Our patented, proprietary compressed gum delivery technology is excellent for delivering supplements with functional ingredients. Some of the significant advantages using a direct compression tableted chewing gum are:
- Fast absorption – many times faster than conventional dosage forms like pills or drinks
- Convenient and discrete – no liquid required – use any time in any setting
- High bio-availability of active ingredients – avoids first pass metabolism through the GI tract and liver
- Fast release of functional actives
- Ingredients not exposed to high heat during manufacturing, which can render active ingredients inactive
- High content uniformity per tablet that can be lab tested for potency
Per Os Bio makes tableted products in a variety of dosage forms for a diverse customer base, both domestic and international. Per Os Bio actually manufactures functional chewing gum products in its own 28,000 square foot facility. We contract manufacture or white/private label tableted chewing gum, chewable tablets, lozenges, mints and candy for a wide variety of customers including national brand leaders, small niche marketers, the U.S. Military, export customers and many more.
